I came to rubber stamping via a long route of interest in other arts/crafts: I started out as a weaver, culminating in juried shows in Boston's City Hall and various galleries, then was led (by the poor quality of mill-dyed yarns) to hand-spinning my own yarns, then to felting, then to paper-making, and finally to rubberstamping, and to my latest love, bone-carving. When the bone is polished to a smooth shiny surface, I use images from rubber stamps to carve outlines into the bone, and then I fill the image with polymer clay inlays. I am also interested in investigating the possibilities of altered books. I teach classes at Luna's Memories, a scrapbooking/rubber stamping store in my home town of Half Moon Bay, CA |
